1. Breathe like you mean it.
Before your session, take a few slow, steady breaths — in through your nose for a count of four, out through your mouth for a count of six. It’s amazing how something so simple tells your nervous system, “It’s safe to switch off now.” Do it for a minute or two and you’ll already feel the edges soften.
2. Park your phone and your thoughts.
Give yourself a few quiet minutes without notifications, emails, or kids shouting “Muuum!” in the background. Sit somewhere comfy, close your eyes, and just notice the sounds around you. Let your brain know it doesn’t have to multitask for a bit. You’re not missing anything urgent — this time’s yours.
3. Set an intention, not an expectation.
Instead of worrying “Will it work?” or “What if I can’t be hypnotised?”, just decide what you’d like to get from it — maybe calm, clarity, or confidence. Treat it like planting a seed rather than demanding a result. The more open and curious you are, the smoother it flows.
